I thought the original game was pretty meh, but the underlying concept was awesome. Assassin's Creed 2 was great. I still haven't played the other two, but I was a little turned off they didn't take the series to a new time period, as it seems perfectly set up for that. It looks like that is what we are getting with Assassin's Creed 3 - set in the American Revolutionary War.

I just finished AC:B and AC:R over the last week to catch up for III. I gotta disagree with people saying B was the best and R was the worst. II is so far my favorite with R coming in second.

I'm not gonna dis on B's story because I thought it was great, but B took out what is the most fun to me in the AC series, free running, and replaced it with horseback riding. Every time I tried to run across the roofs in B, it seemed I was always JUST short of the next roof and Ezio always had to pick himself up. It got to the point where it was a LOT faster for me to get around by running through the streets and crowds. Then pretty much half the map is empty plains where you either have to horseback it or use a tunnel.

R brought back the free running aspect to me and made it more fun with the hook. The bombs made things a lot more fun too just because I could be all Batman and shit by dropping down a smoke bomb mid-fight and dippin out. It was also a lot of fun just seeing Ezio out of his element but a lot older, calmer, and wiser. I never even changed his cloak's color just because I felt none of the other colors did him justice like the default.

I'm a few hours in. I'm in the same boat as Vawn. Played 1 and 2, but never did the other two. I'd say this one continues the trend of moving in the right direction.

Any game where there's a button for "Use someone as a human shield" is an okay one in my book.

*Don't read if you're not finished*

Anyone else really disappointed in the ending? I personally was fine with it being about Templar mind control and Assassins fighting for freedom. The whole solar flare thing seems to have just sent it way overboard.
