Also, the writer, Michael Arndt, did the screenplay for Little Miss Sunshine and Toy Story 3. So we may actually get character dialog which doesn't completely blow goats!

I hope it still partially blows goats, you know, for the sake of the goats.

Oh God!

http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1701447/star-wars-disney-spinoff.jhtml

J.J. Abrams is living the geek dream, standing at the helm of two of science fiction's greatest franchises: "Star Trek" and "Star Wars." But he won't be the only one at the helm of a "Star Wars" movie, according to new comments made by Disney's own Bob Iger.

The Walt Disney Company chairman and CEO confirmed on Tuesday (February 5) that there are indeed standalone "Star Wars" films in development, in addition to the already announced trilogy of new "Star Wars" entries beginning with Abrams' "Episode VII."

"There has been speculation about some stand-alone films that have been in development, and I can confirm to you today that in fact we are working on a few stand-alone films," Iger said on CNBC's "Closing Bell with Maria Bartiromo."

Iger added that "Empire Strikes Back" writer Lawrence Kasdan and "X-Men: First Class" scribe Simon Kinberg, both of whom were tapped by Disney to work on new "Star Wars" material in November 2012, are contributing to the stand-alone "Star Wars" movies.

I wonder if we are finally going to see a story which doesn't focus around the Jedi?
