The Goblins have decided to put the eternal clashing of Horde vs. Alliance to their advantage... money. Shokan Makmuni, a respected entrepreneur in the goblin society, decided to create a challenge for any soldier willing to try his meddle at this team competition and as an added twist, it isn't just Alliance versus Horde this time. Four teams will compete with one another for a chance at the prize in this grand free-for-all event.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In this BG, there will be four teams competing in several different trials with the ultimate goal of "pushing" their piece onto the winning circle first. One of the challenging factors is that it's a group vs. group event. Horde vs. Alliance, Horde vs. Horde or Alliance vs. Alliance. (First four full groups made enter the BG at the same time)

First Trial

All parties start in identical rooms, though in seperate areas of the arena. Each room has 4 doors, one of which is locked, and are facing in each cardinal direction. Behind the unlocked doors is a combat challenge where you will fight to receive a key which unlocks the locked door to continue the to the next challenge. (Key is a semi-random drop on one of the three challenges.)

Second Trial

Opening the door from the First Trial brings you to the Second Trial which starts with three crystals on the floor and a door on the side opposite the entry. The door can only be opened using a combination of two crystals. (This is where the randomizer would come in so the combination changes everytime. The selection of combinations can be done using a quest menu selection.) Failure to choose the right combination results in either a harmful spell or monster appearing to stop you from opening the door. (Not sure if I should put a clue as to the correct combination to give the players a chance to use logic to decide which combination to use or just keep it strictly a guessing game.)

Final Trial

This is the tough battle and where your performance in the previous trials will either aid your or hinder you. When you come into this challenge you will enter a LARGE arena with an NPC near the door you exited from. Talking to this NPC will start his progress towards the center of the arena. If it gets there before the others, you win!

What keeps the first person showing up from winning? Why it's because attacks against the NPC will cause him to be Dazed and thus slow his progress. These attacks can come from the other teams or the constant spawn of monsters spewing from the center of the arena. Also if there are no teammates for the NPC when he is attacked (by either mobs or other teams), the NPC will be forced to retreat until reinforcements arrive.

(This idea was taken from WC3 maps where you escort an icon to a certain area on the map with elements of DotA thrown in.)

The Prize!

The prize comes as a tokens that can be saved and turned in for prizes similar to the Honor System. Winning the match gives the team 50 tokens for each player. Tokens can also be recieved by looting other players (not mobs) for 1 Token each. Prizes can include one-use consumables for low token prices up to (good) blue gear which may cost several thousands of tokens.

The BG is split like the others with 10-19/20-29/30-39/40-49/50-59/60. The tokens for each BG is different and are Soulbound (no trading!). For instance:

10-19 BG gets Copper Tokens
20-29 BG gets Tin Tokens
30-39 BG gets Iron Tokens
40-49 BG gets Silver Tokens
50-59 BG gets Gold Tokens
60 BG gets Mithril Tokens

Deaths and Graveyards

As with all Battlegrounds, there will be deaths. In this particular one, Shokan brought in the best Ectoplasmic Regurtitaors money can buy! At each teams entry point there is an ER that will reconstruct all ectoplasm in the area to their fully functioning bodies every 45 seconds. Also taking a token from a fallen enemy will ensure he cannot be revived by any means beyond the ER.

Some concerns that are answered

Wouldn't Paladins and Priests make the NPC unstoppable? No. The NPCs will be untargetable by their team. Since they are immune to damage (either by extremely unrealistic health, armor, resists, regen rates or a combination of all of them) they will not need to be healed and cannot die.

What about Polymorphing, Stuns, Fear and Roots? The NPCs are mechanical. Thus these effects will work on them as they work on other mechanicals... with diminishing returns of course.

So why wouldn't a team just leave their own NPC and just keep pressure on the team that's behind? Remember there are four teams out there. So going after one while leaving your own undefended gives the other teams an opportunity to advance without as much worry.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now that I have completed my thought, feel free to critique it. Once I (and the rest of those who care) are satisfied, I'm going to post it up in the Suggestion Boards for WoW.

DEATHFORCE: There are certainly crazy things you can do with this game, you can generate a world that is 3 times the size of earth before it starts having errors, although I dont know how long it would take to generate a world that large anyways lol

TRASSIN: I'm guessing about 21 days? Assuming you take a break every 7th day or so.

perhaps a minotaur maze for the second one? where everyone gets kicked out into a maze, and you have to rack up so many kills to deaths as a team to get the key? only the landscape really is a maze?
