M'k, I am in love with this series as are the 4 other ppl watching it with me.  Any idea when it will be released on DVD in the US, like before its on TV, after its on TV or will it be a weekly serial type deal?  I am basically unsure how they will treat Naruto cause its such a big deal, I am sur eno other anime has ever been so big in the US before it came to the US.

If anyone is interested, the movie finally came out on dvd.

Edit after seeing it:

Well, the movie is a good reminder as to why I started liking the show in the first place. It takes place sometime after the battle for Konoha, and before the filler arc  (and if you saw the filler arc it rings a lot of similaries to the movie, but pales in comparasin). Watch after teh credits for neat little detail.

I have downloaded up to about ep 45 but I have only watched up to about 15.  I'll get to the rest of it eventually, I'm sure.  It's a cool series.

News on the Naruto dub from Anime Insider

It says that Shopro will air Naruto in September, and the first DVD will be released in December. Although the Toonami version will be editted, the DVDs will supposedly be purely uncut. Shopro's reason for putting it on Toonami and not on Adult Swim is to boost the show's popularity.

Things that will be cut out or editted are as follows:

Any blood that flows out of a character (except for when Naruto stabs his hand).
Zaku's exploding joints in episode 40.
Sasuke's throat full of needles in episode 16.
     Any cussing.

Things that will not be cut out or editted are as follows:

     Naruto stabbing his hand.
     The Sexy no Jutsu.
Blood that does not flow out.

Also, all of the ninja moves will keep their original Japanese names! (Such as: Kagebunshin no Jutsu, Sexy no Jutsu, etc.)

It was good because they are fleshing out characters we have not seen in a long time.
