I meant which movie should I watch first? I'm already going to finish the anime before either, since I'm more than half way through.

Didn't know there was an animated Death Note movie. o.O I just know of the 2 live action ones, which are amazing.

Well damn, so there's two live action ones then. I know one follows the manga mostly, what's the other one about?

I was referring to the anime series, by the way.

The first movie ends when Light and L first meet, and then the 2nd movie is everything that follows.

I actually liked the ending for the anime DeathNote better than the live action. I just plain like L getting gakked. For real.

Alright... long time coming but I finished Samurai Champloo. That has some pretty damn funny moments. The baseball episode was classic.

No joke, I just went back and watched the final three episodes today. I just found the whole M/N thing to be a drag. I sort of liked how it ended, but who didn't see it coming?

But L getting killed, yeah that was awesome.

L dies in the movies too, but the whole thing with N was just lame, I like to pretend that part of the anime didn't happen.

I'll have to rewatch the movies, I don't remember L dying at all. I remember him faking his death or doing something squirrely with the Death Note to keep himself from dying. Anyway, yes, the entire end sequence to the first season is one of the best endings to any anime I've seen. I would have liked to see the series end there. I also did not dig the N thing, and although I felt the way Light's downfall happened was entirely in keeping with a megalomaniacal psychosis, I also think he would have been way smarter than that. Being so cocksure as to the abilities and actions of his pawns was out of character, I don't see how he would not have planned for any stupidity on their part.

There is a rule that the latest you can write someone's death in the Death Note is like, 25 days or something, and once someone's name is written in the Death Note you can't write their name again for a different death.

L writes his own name giving himself a month to stop Light. By condemning himself by marking his own death he protects himself from Light being able to do it. So while he does beat Light he dies shortly thereafter.
