In that my sense of impending victory or defeat is either useless or miscalibrated. In that particular battle I thought I was doing well, but it kept slipping out of my hands, and when I thought I was doing really well... my doom was in fact imminent.

So slippery like soap in the sense that the war can go badly quickly, and victory can squirt out of your hands when you try to get a good grip on it.

That happens to me while I'm in the shower sometimes, too. It's okay, Mish, it's a normal thing for boys your age to do.

Thanks for the laugh Lee, I'd say you owe me for that setup, but I was actually trying to avoid leaving one. It's probably futile to try to make any kind of unambiguous soap analogy, but I seem to have done an especially poor job. ; )

The shine on this wore off quickly. I'd rather play Dawn of War for sure.

It lacks immersion.

Haven't installed it yet. I'm waiting until I have a couple 8800's and a new mobo.

If I were you I'd go get my $50 back and play Dawn of War. It's isn't that bad mind you, but its distinctly not-compelling for me.

Feels more like dry rations than steak. I'm being overly hard on it, and maybe if you loved TA you'll feel differently. I don't know.

Got it from EB, so no chance of getting my money back(those Nazi bastards). I'm sure I'll like it enough, it's just going to have to wait until I'm through all of the other games I bought recently. So about a year.

Just uninstalled this. Nevery really gave it a fair hearing, but I'm not playing it and I want my 7G back.

Finished it with the UEF and Cybrans, and now working on the Aeon. I love this freaking game. Can't wait to beat this last campaign so I can install Forged Alliance.

This game is nothing but immersion, just a specific kind. The point of the game is to present an entirely tactical experience. It is simply a hardcore RTS. The enjoyment comes from seeing your carefully planned tactics pan out, or being able to salvage and counter if things go wrong. It is geared only towards the tactical crowd. Not my normal cup of tea, but now that I'm into it, I'm addicted. Overall the game is much better than TA, but the latter is still my favorite. Maybe it's nostalgia, maybe it was the bleak storyline.
