Why do I want to carry around 3 devices when I can carry around one device?

The 'homebrew' is great and you can encode all the movies/TV Shows you want yourself.

Because that one device sucks ass, battery life being the biggest thing here. When I get something that is for "on-the-go" use, I wanna use it, you know, on-the-go, not have it die in the middle of the movie I'm watching, and then have to wait until we get to another place where I can charge it; WOW WHAT FUN.

My brother swears by his PSP. He's not one for handhelds, or even very much of a gamer now due to family and work. He is a friggin' tech guru though, he's writing a new computer program for the Predator drones, before that he wrote a landing simulator for NASA astronaut training, and back in the day he created a radar system for the F-16. If he says a piece of technology is good, I have to take his word on it. Of course, I still don't want one. I hate handhelds.

i'm never more than five minutes from an outlet, and the psp isn't so much portable for me as it is easier to get out than an entire ps2, and on top of that, i don't have to steal a tv to use it. also, the only things that i've found that do ebooks as well or better is a palm pilot thinggy, and the ones of those that i like cost about $400. oh, and the battery life lasts a day at the amount that i use it, and so then i can charge it overnight.

If it works for you, great, I seriously disliked it, and so do most people I know. I know most of the guys who work at the chain of EB Games around here, all hardcore gamers, and not one of them owns a PSP, which I found interesting.

If you pirate its prolly the best system ever made, if you dont its been shitty so far but will be amazing soon.

I still kinda wish I could afford to throw away money on a gimmicky thing like that. I just know I'm too lazy to get any use outta it.

Very True. No modchip required or anything.

Dreamcast might have been better for pirating.

You can get games for the PSP itself (sometimes before they release), roms for any system PSX or older, music and movies... I dont think the DreamCast can touch that.

It's going to get amazing? How? With them cancelling movie production on UMD, sounds like a step toward abandoning this project, so PSP "getting amazing" is definitely news to me.

Actually, Yobun and I got some games for DC before they released. We played the original PSO about a week before it's JP release.

All the DC games were "out" plus it had emulators for NES, SNES, Genisis, Gameboy etc.
There was a media player and divx player and mp3 player for the DC.

And no modchip was required.

I was kind of expecting an answer to that, but ok. I'm not against the PSP or anything, I'm just wondering why you think it will be better in coming months than it is now.

There is a FFT: A2 game coming out sometime for the DS.
It is a new game not like Lion War.
