So I guess you all are too busy playing to post?

How is the retail version?

Did the battle.net servers remain up?

Are there any patches you have to download and how large are they?

I think I will be buying this later today!

Took about an hour to install and about 5 minutes to patch. I'm having issues with long load times, but it warned me prior to install that my system memory was below the minimum recommended, so that's likely just the fact that I'm running on a 4 year old laptop. The game looks great, even on lowest settings and I haven't had any issues. I didn't try any multiplayer games last night, but I'm guessing Battlenet was down for a bit because when I finished the second campaign mission, it didn't update my achievements.

*edit*
Just finished the third mission. Once you get to the Hyperion command ship, the campaign get's a little less linear. It's like Jedi Academy or some of the Mechwarrior games where you can select which planet you want to go to and which mission you want to do. Armory upgrades are available from the command ship, so you can start missions with certain research upgrades already completed like Stimpaks and such. These upgrades require you to spend credits that you earn during missions. If you're an achievement whore like me, I recommend looking at every thing and talking to everyone in the lobby areas. I got an achievement just for talking to one of the guys on the Hyperion bridge.

My pre-order by mail seems less awesome now that I have to wait for that shit to arrive.

I would like to do that soonish. I won't get the game until tomorrow evening, and I'd like to go through the campaign which will take me some time. Plus my birthday is this weekend so I might be doing some non-Starcraft activities.

That said, if you guys schedule a few hours I won't be able to resist unless there's some kind of girlfriend conflict. Specifically, her parents are coming out to see us at some point this weekend, and I'm not going to be rude to them even for Starcraft.

Good to hear. I'll likely get it just for that.

I finally got a few missions in. So far the campaign is better than I expected.

Also, how awesome is Lost Viking? ; )

Picked it up Tuesday and have been playing thru the campaign so far. Will have to try the multi-player next week when I am off work. My biggest disappointment so far is I want the cheat codes...lol. I always enjoyed beating it, then going back with cheat codes and just laying waste to everything.

There may be more. I haven't tried any of them yet.

My first thought was that cheats wouldn't be there because of the achievement system, but then I realized all you have to do is disable achievements if a cheat is used and it would still work.

Also, I love the Lost Viking reference. My biggest problem is that I'm running on a system that doesn't meet the minimum requirements for system memory. The cinematics and the missions all play smoothly, but they take forever and a day to load or to transition from one to another.
