Also, we seem to have some auto-logout thing going on if you spend too long composing a post.
This uh... never happens to me. I'm just sayin. _________________ You are the result of 4 billion years of evolutionary success.

Some of the New Post flags won't disappear. So far one in the Spam section, two in General Discussion(which are also spam), and the newest topic in Warhammer Online.

That did it. It may have something to do with AVG trouncing some cookies. Thanks, Lee! _________________ "The cheese stands alone." - Madhatte |

What version of phpBB do we use? I was looking at the official site to see what it had to say about spam and notice that there is a new version available as of 7/10/08: http://www.phpbb.com/downloads/
Not sure how big of a hassle it would be to upgrade, or if it would even be worth it, but I figured that it might cut down on spam at least a little and thus actually save the mods/admins time in the long run. _________________ The word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honorable, but still primitive legends which are nevertheless pretty childish. - Albert Einstein

We are using version 2.0.22 which is an update behind. The last (final) update for version 2 was 2.0.23. Version 3 is now live and out of beta. It has some neat additional features and I did review this weekend what is required to upgrade from 2 to 3. It's a lot. Before I do that I need to have a solid understanding of how to back up and restore this board in it's entireity if I'm to tackle the upgrade. It's not as simple as just overwriting some updated files.
Ultimately this weekend I didn't have the time to devote to a full upgrade like that. It is an upgrade I would like to eventually make, and I'd like to say that it could be done before the end of October. _________________ "I don't have dreams about the Navy. Cool, as always I'm more than happy to offer any help I can, unfortunately my lake of skill/experience when it comes to this makes that offer fairly worthless. _________________ The word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honorable, but still primitive legends which are nevertheless pretty childish. - Albert Einstein

You know what I want for Christmas? A way to mark all topics in a forum as read without having to enter the forum to click on "mark all topics read." Unless there already is a way that I'm unaware of. _________________ "The cheese stands alone." - Madhatte |

There's a "mark all forums read" button on the main page that I use for the WoW and FF sections. _________________ The word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honorable, but still primitive legends which are nevertheless pretty childish. - Albert Einstein

And I could use it after perusing all the others. That makes sense. Now I know, and knowing is half the battle. *Takes off noob cap....for now* _________________ "The cheese stands alone." - Madhatte |

Several threads have the "New Posts" flag stuck. That is, even after I've read them, they show up as new. Do we have any new upgrades or mods, or are any pending? _________________ We live in an amazing, amazing world, and it's wasted on the crappiest generation of spoiled idiots. -- Louis CK

I had the same problem, which I asked about a few posts up. It turned out to be my cookies getting fragged by my antivirus software. I cleared it up and haven't had a problem since. _________________ "The cheese stands alone." - Madhatte |

Hmmm....my problem was that cookies had been cleared, which eliminated some of my configs for a number of sites, apparently including this one. Have you tried rebooting? Sorry, noob solutions are all I got at this point. _________________ "The cheese stands alone." - Madhatte |

I thought General, silliness, and spam were locked due to all the unbeliever activity in them? They looked to be unlocked a moment ago. _________________ The word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honorable, but still primitive legends which are nevertheless pretty childish. - Albert Einstein
