No. Guy Fawkes Night is a legitimate UK/ex-UK-colonial holiday. It has nothing to do with US politics or history.

no, but it does have to do with trying to overthrow the... for that matter, the other thread doesn't have much to do with treason. its about patriotism... which is treason if the revolution fails, which it did in guy fawlkes' case.

I was listening to "the song" yesterday with my wife. I turned it way up, blasting loud, and of course we both thought of "V". I didn't realize until later that evening that it was the 5th.

There is an English Gentalman who swims at the pool I work for. He was asking me trivia questions, that was one of them Yesterday which reminded me of this very old thread.
