I'm pretty excited about all the changes coming up. The ones posted today are pretty awesome. the new /ja for mnk and brd will be interesting to see just how often and effective they are. Same thing goes for the new PLD spell.

The increase of merits is pretty big. very strong for sam and drk. Thats another 10% onto WS dmg for sam with overwhelm. Bringing the total to +25%. thats also a total of 25% haste for drks now from desperate blows.

Yeah, for PUP that works out to +10 accy +10% attk on the puppet, which is pretty hot. For BLM, it's not too exciting though. AM2 is very meh, and meriting it for more effect is even more meh.

This was on bluegartr. They've had animations that they've never used before, but these appear to be "new"

I always pick good times to go on vacation. FFXI likes to release updates when I want to take a long break away form techonology.

This looks interesting. Maybe something we could do as a shell.

This addition to the game seems pretty amazing and I really can't wait to try it out. I'm really hoping it'll be doable by 6 people or less, as i'm not a big fan of the whole going with an alliance of people to accomplish something. I might have to try and 4-man this with a friend of mine, as we both are able to 2-box. Lookin forward to seeing what SE has come up with.

Patch falls Monday @1-4pm EST. 70(Xbox)-130(Windows)mb in size; hopefully we can all have it done in time, but Sin Hunter's/Nyzul Isle is potentially up in the air.

Yeah, sounds fun and if these NMs drop some of the gear I've read about so far, should be well worth the effort. The droprate has to be better than Kraken Club at least.

So the deal with the new NMs is you have to use your soultrapper and take pictures of a certain mob, not sure of the reset on his "preferred" mob, every Vana'diel week maybe? You are awarded Zeti for your pictures and then you use the Zeti for the pop items.

According to a friend of mine, he killed a mob to about 2% and said the points were MUCH greater than when he just took a picture of an unclaimed mob. He got around... 1200 Zeti for a day I think? Something around there.

Anyone that has anymore information, i'd love to hear it as this may be my new time killer.

Could they come up with worse ideas for this game?

Edit for clarification

Since the implementation of the latest version update on Jun. 9, 2008, we have confirmed the following issue. Investigation and recovery work is currently underway.

- Sneak Attack is not working properly.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

Yeah, someone said SA was only working from the front.

I took some pictures last night. It's actually mildly amusing, although I'm sure that will wear off rather quickly.

I did get more points for a near dead monster, and more points for higher level mobs.

3 of the new PUP items come from a tier I NM, so I might be looking for some help in the near future. Looks like 6-10 people or so to kill it.

Some of that gear is ridiculous, but come one... taking pictures... really?

I'm not sure if they could really make these multi-hit WS as they'd be WAY overpowered. You'll notice that Blade: Metsu which has a 4 hit look, is really only a 1 hit WS. Same goes for Mercy Stroke. Even still, they look pretty BA.
