Are there any tricks to taking the Wii online? I'll be setting up a wireless network soon solely so I can get the Wii online, and then get games that can take advantage of that (like smash bros).

None really. I use Access Control Lists instead of security (WEP/WPA) it's just easier. Make a list if your friends Wii console addresses (should be posted in this topic) and make sure they have yours. You can find it under the Mail, then go to compose (paper and pencil in the lower left) and then go to the address book to get your Wii code.

So has anyone else "Hacked" their Wii yet?

SNES9X runs great and so does FCEU.

I've been playing Mario 3 some.

No More Heroes is teh awesome! Funny quirky dialogue, a great story, not to mention ridiculous amounts of bloody violence...and as a bonus feature, the use of the word assclown! I'm the #5 assassin right now.

I got the twilight princess hack to work. I have heard that they have fixed the exploit with the newest firmware update. I had SNES emulator running though for one night. I have not tried it again lately. If anyone has any Mario Kart Wii codes let me know so we can race online.

Some people hacked Brawl and made Brawl+
http://brawlplus.net/about/
they changed a bunch of stuff in the game.

My friend hacked SSBM and did similar stuff.
It is called "wParam's SSBM Crazy Mod" if you try to look for it.

I've been playing Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time on the Wii, connecting to my kids on their DS's. It's been a fun time. If you have a choice between the two systems, you'd probably be better off with the DS version. The Wii version is split screen and on a normal sized TV makes viewing text difficult. Also, it seems to be slow - I have almost a full second delay between inputing an action and seeing it executed when I play over WiFi with someone in Florida hosting. My kids on the DS don't seem to have as big an issue.

I bought Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers for Wii because I thought it would be like the GC and DS Crystal Chronicles games, allowing for multiplayer. Turns out that was wrong but Echoes of Time is just about exactly what I was looking for.

Does anyone know how to backup the games? My kids are horrible with the discs even though I try to keep them from so much as breathing in their general direction.

There is a method of game emulation by connecting an external HD, but that's about all I know about it.

We've lost a few games already. They're just gone as far as I'm concerned, and the kids don't get to see them replaced. I keep my own personal games separated and I'm the only one who uses them, so I haven't had any games I really care about lost.

Except for Smash Brothers. I'm still upset at the kids for that one.

Hmmm. There's really not any games that I care to play for myself, so I guess if they break em, tough.

I might look for a Final Fantasy or Zelda game or something to sink into.

I can try to explain it over PM since we can't talk about that stuff.
