Ordinarily that is correct. This storm was the biggest and longest-lasting we've seen here in like 20 years.

I find it amazing that I can't get nearly as much snow here in CO (being a mountain state) as the rest of the US and yet folks here can't drive nearly as competently as most Virginian's. I kid you not, exactly 1 month ago I sat through the weather trying to get back to Denver from visiting my sister in COS. I was in bumper to bumper traffic not going faster than 5 miles an hour and there was no end in sight. I called my sister and asked what was going on, and she was viewing the internet traffic cams and it showed ABSOLUTELY no traffic upto Monument. Well needless to say I finally get to Monument about an hour and a half later and, yup there's traffic. This can only mean one thing. The slow drivers aren't getting off the road. 3 cars had died out due to some manner of mechanical failure or another and yet they won't go any faster even though they are putting other people's lives at risk. I know when it's 25F outside that nearly every bridge and road is iced up, but if the roads are too scary a driver should have the presence of mind to think. "Hmmm, maybe I should spend the night in a hotel and try agian tomorrow.". But no, they gotta make it a 5 hour drive to Denver for everyone. Honestly, there was no wreck, no disabled vehicle, blocking a lane, just stupid people on the road that day. The way I see it, the abnormally slow people should get off the road and let the rest of us get our road rage on. Hell flip over in a ditch, get pinned under our truck/SUV until we die of hypothermia. At least we'd be the stupid people then. I would much rather die of my own stupidity, cowardice, ignorance or incompetence than someone else's.

An hour and a half to get from COS to Monument? Damn. That's messed up. Sometimes when it's snowing in COS the people get really stupid, but it's a military town, what do you expect? But an hour and a half...

I know. It was less than 5 MPH most of the way there. There were points that we'd get going faster like upto 20, then the drivers would get scared of a little fishtailing or wheel spinning and slow down again because of the black-ice. People just need to stay off the road if they can't drive it. I have snow chains, tow-rope and blanket in my truck for this time of year so I'll take my chances.

I think Global Warming is a misnomer. It should just be Global Climate Change.

SO at work I have to check these triangles and dots.
I have to make sure a triangle is overtop a dot.
And that dots are not missing triangles.
Or that there are triangles out there with no dots!

My little cousins could probably do this Laughing

You have no idea how pissed I get when I go into GIS and find triangles missing their dots, dots without triangles, or just their general mis-alignment. I mean, come on!? How hard is that to keep straight? My 4 year old son could keep dots and triangles properly superimposed!

If dots and triangles are allowed to remain un-superimposed, then we're just that one step closer to worldwide chaos and anarchy. Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!

You better get on top of that shit yo. Do you really want human sacrifice on your hands? I don't think so.

Also: I looked at the image you put up and noticed that your triangles are not properly centered within your dots. You need to rectify that asap.

Yeah, definitely some fucked up shit.

Oh, and Kevin Smith talked about this in one of his more recent SModCasts: http://smodcast.com/smods/smodcast111.html

Is it bad that I couldn't help but laugh at the one article because they just kept saying "The torso"? "The torso was identified as male," "So and so found the torso."

Driving from Maryland back to Richmond last night there was a homeless guy riding a bicycle on the beltway I-95/495.
