I'm surprised nobody has mentioned anything about it, yet. Gameplay is the same chewy goodness with some neat new features. The story and levels are much better than in Halo 3 in my opinion, more varied. Halo 1 was all samey(meaning the levels), Halo 2 was incredible, and Halo 3 was back to being mostly samey. Despite the variety of level settings, the game felt like a quick overview of everything seen in the other three games(outside of the story), and the levels themselves seem much smaller(and more linear because of that) than in previous installments. I love how this one ended, very fitting last bit. It was waaay too short, though. There wasn't enough going on, or time, for me to really develop a connection with any of the team, so whenever one would be lost, it didn't really affect me, which is opposite what the developers may have been looking for. The AI wasn't too great, either. Especially driving, absolute worst AI driving in the series. Truly horrible. But they are great gunners, if they manage to shoot at a real threat instead of just the closest thing to the vehicle.

All in all, I did very much enjoy it. I wish it weren't the last one, there are quite a number of other plotlines that could be explored.

Been to busy playing Reach to comment on Reach.

My understanding is that the bulk of their efforts with Reach were spent on the level designing tools, which is likely why the solo campaign suffered.

This wasn't the last Halo, it was the last Halo for Bungie. 343 Studios is taking over the IP.

The solo campaign is terrific, but a bit short. Probably the hardest in the series by quite a bit.

Yeah, I meant the length suffered, I wasn't saying it was bad.

I agree completely with that, it was terrific, despite my very minor gripes. Loved every second I played. Not being a huge multiplayer fan, and with no Gold account, I haven't delved into that stuff very much as yet. I did discover you get a small amount of credits for the time spent in a map. I solo'd a multiplayer map just to run around and fiddle with guns and such, spent about 30 or 45 minutes just screwing around. When I ended it, I got a couple hundred credits and was promoted to 1st Sargeant. Definitely an exploit that needs to be amended.
