While the 1.2 update fixed the long-term play issues for most PS3 users, we are aware that is not the case for some. Weíve been reaching out to a number of those users to collect save games, so we can take a look at their specific issues. Right now we know itís not one thing, but a combination of smaller ones that some folks are seeing, but others are not. Some seem to be the PS3 autosaving in the background (you can turn that off), some may be SPU AI updates, and some may relate to dynamic system memory allocation. These fixes are not in the current 1.3 update that is in final testing, but will be in future ones. We understand how frustrating it can be when your game is having issues, and we thank all of you for your continued feedback and patience. Rest assured we take your gameplay experience seriously and will continue working on this until itís resolved.

I definitely can appreciate that they are acknowledging the problem and promising to fix it (even if the Obsidian New Vegas guys claim it isn't realistic).

So I'm thinking I must be incredibly bad at this game, just trying to head up to the Greybeards, yields me a horrendous experience. If the I can get by the damned Snowcat, the Ice Troll snaps me like a twig! Am I just not supposed to head up there at level 12?

I died a couple times fighting it, but then I got a bit more tactical with my attacks and eventually brought it down. I also had a housecarl companion who was helping. I was level 8 and on normal difficulty at the time.

Ouch Yobun, that sucks. Do you mean it just erased your latest save so you went back to an earlier one?

He is playing on PS3 btw.

Also - How is the game playing otherwise at the point your at? Are framrate issues and system locking up getting worse as you keep going?

Playing a wood-elf archer/rogue style character. Perhaps I should just restart a character, since I have more of a feeling for the game... I did realize I was saving my Perk points until I figured out how I wanted to work it, so that didn't help.

Ummm....saber-cats etc shouldn't be a problem as a sneak archer/etc....Just sneak up and shoot them repeatedly until they close on you...get out of sneak, and run/backpeddle and kill them...

Back-pedalling against a sabre-cat really doesn't work that well, he will catch you and maul you.

Best way to fight beasts jumping you in the wild is with the Kyne's Peace shout, which makes them instantly docile, you get it pretty early in the game if you do a few of the Dovahkiin quests.

Somehow the last three saves were corrupt and the PS3 "fixed" them on start-up.

I am about 50 hours in and at 7.5 MB save file and the lag has started to get pretty significant. I wouldn't have classified it as "unplayable" until just about 5 minutes ago. I logged off for the night. I'm hoping it will be better after the PS3 has a good night's sleep, but from all that I read online, it probably won't be.

I would stop playing and wait for a patch from Bethesda to fix the issue, but I seriously doubt that patch will ever come. They can claim the Obsidian guys don't know what they're talking about, but I get the feeling they do. Bethesda says they built this new engine so it wouldn't have this particular issue, but yet here it is, just like in their other games in which it was never resolved.

For those of you not fortunate enough to see how bad the lag can get on PS3, here is one video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMu4Tzk2bdg

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBRf9bsML6M

There are a ton of these videos out there. This is really annoying. I think that the game is so good until it craps out makes even more frustrating. I don't want to quit the game I'm 50 hours into, but I also don't want to continue playing if the lags keeps up.
