I've been on a bit of an anime break for the last several years, and as it's been popping up more and more frequently on Netflix instant-watch I decided to start watching some stuff again.
Le Portrait de Petit Cossette was a series I recalled hearing about back when I had an active subscription to one of those anime magizines, and since it was only 3 episodes I gave it a shot.
Maybe it's because I watched it in English, rather than subbed Japanese, but for most of the show I was like, "what the fuck is going on??"
By the end of the three episodes I think I may have grasped what was going on, but it's told in such a weird way that I really had trouble keeping tabs on the story as it jumped around. The style of storytelling here reminded me of Serial Experiments Lain, but I didn't feel it was as good as Lain was.
It was a decent 3-episode show, and from what I did understand and grasp I liked the overall story. But the way it was told and the way it jumped around, adding new twists seemingly at random, made it difficult for me to fully enjoy the story as it was being told. _________________ "I don't have dreams about the Navy. What I'm also doing.
What I wish I did more of.
