It's still technically beta but they are not wiping progress.

Is anyone else having issues getting on? I get a message saying the servers are down, but there is nothing on the main site.

The Facebook page has been pretty good about posting whenever servers have been down as well as posting status updates whenever they run into problems.

I've resisted buying any of the Founder pack/Zen currency so far but I might break down eventually, if for no other reason than to get rid of all the nightmare chests that are accumulating in my bank. I've really enjoyed the wizard(lvl 32 currently) so far. I've played a bit of the cleric and I'm somewhat torn on that one mainly because I prefer playing a melee warpriest type build. I'm hoping that future content updates will provide a little more customization. Has anyone gotten a cleric up to paragon levels yet? I'm not sure if I could spec into platemail and a melee weapon later on or not.

I'm pretty sure you won't be able to do that with the way the game is designed. That doesn't mean they won't be putting in a plate wearing warhammer toting warpriest in the future though.

Yeah, it looked like they planned on adding additional paragon paths and possibly even additional starting builds for each class. Those are probably going to have to wait until after more base classes get added though. I've heard people discussing both paladin and ranger as being in the works. It's fine though, I just reinstalled NWN and NWN2 and play those whenever I want hacky slashy clericy goodness.

So I was perusing the PW website trying to find what exactly the prices on the zen market were (those nightmare chests are starting to build up in my bank and I figured a couple keys couldn't hurt) and noticed that they have an option to fill out online surveys to earn zen. Comments, thoughts, concerns?

I have seen that for several games with a micro-economy. I think that... you should do it and let us know if it's legit and not some obscure Nigerian Prince scam.

I clicked one, but my custom hosts file blocked the site. I think it was an ad site that it redirects to. I might have to unblock temporarily to give it a go.

I did buy the cheaper founder's pack. You get:
A weapon that lasts until about 18 or so. You are extremely overpowered until about 13 or 14. No big deal since it's just noob area stuff. Helps a bit in the first dungeon, too.
A ring that gets replaced about the same time
A purple (upgradable to rank 30) dire wolf companion. I'm on the fence about this one. I kinda prefer the human companions that are more specialized.
1 Extra character slot
Some fluff items that I don't really care about
600,000 Astral Diamonds. I haven't redeemed this yet since it's a one-time redeem and you can't transfer ADs between characters yet. Who knows what my main character will eventually be????

EDIT: Oh, meant to say that I have a 26 Rogue, 19 Cleric and 10 Wizard currently on Mindflayer. I'm learning a ton about how to do non-combat stuff every day (mainly vendors and the auction house).

I tried one of the surveys that rewards you with 98 Zen. They wanted to know all about my liquor buying habits apparently. Unity crashed before it finished though, so I didn't get credit for it. Extra character slots is the only reward that sounds tempting honestly. The only thing I've been spending AD on is identify scrolls when I happen to not loot them. I got my wizard to 32 fairly easily using the tank companion. I haven't messed much with the AH but I do enjoy the crafting. My wizard is at lvl 7 Tailor and level 4 leadership now. It would probably have been higher but I've been pretty lax about setting new tasks.

I've got a level 5 rogue. I don't really have time for an MMO, but it's interesting thus far at least.

From what I gather they are fixing an Auction House glitch that people were exploiting. I don't know the specifics of it though.

There was a glitch that amounted to making a negative bid on an auction, which would give the person auctioning an item millions or billions of astral diamonds. The cheaters used it very sparingly early on in the game and amassed a huge wealth that they gave to their friends and whoever in the form of gifts. Then everyone got bored with it and shared the method with the interwebs. This caused the Auction House to go insane.

Market got flooded with ADs and people bought Zen with the flood of ADs. They said they are not going to roll back or do character wipes, so I don't know how they plan to fix this. What happens to the innocent bystanders that got their items stolen from them in the glitches? What happens to the original cheaters that were quiet about it the whole time? Are there going to be any repercussions for them? How many numerous transactions did they make after quietly making millions? Gifts?

It's a regular charlie foxtrot, if you ask me. Looks like there was also a 1-hit-boss-kill glitch that was exploited, too.

Basically, a lot of normal glitches that were exploited, but the exploiters kept it on the down-low and didn't just instantly flood the market.

The post I saw mentioned that they would be taking action against the accounts that abused it. Hard to deal with something like that once it's all out in the open market though.

I've been enjoying the game. I do wish the clerics could use melee hammers though, and not those stupid light spears. And their slide bothers me. Otherwise I've had a lot fo fun so far.

Woah, woah, woah. Their slide is AMAHZING! I'm on board with the stupid light spears though.

Yeah, this is my biggest gripe with the game. Limited gear for each 'class' is so bogus.

Warpriest FTW.

I'll admit I've gained several levels just from logging in at the altar, doing an invocation, and logging back out, lather rinse repeat once an hour or so. I'm still enjoying the questlines and such though.

I just did a Skirmish on my Rogue. It's the one in Ebon Hold. We were about halfway done with a boss and his assorted minions when someone pulled another boss. 3 people kept chain dying (tank and 2 DPS). Cleric did a hell of a job staying alive and (I'll admit) that I did a mighty fine job doing the same. It was me and the cleric hopping around the field pulling mobs off each other and juggling potion timers and stamina regen. We kept it going until the rest of the group that had to release came back.

Then they all died again and we went back to the same thing again. We finally got them all down. It was a HELL of a good time! Now when I'm doing quests solo, I'm disappointed when I only have to fight 2 of the medium difficulty guys at the same time. Although, I did fight about 5 of the mediums at the same time in the last area of Helms Hold. That was a fun juggle, too. I learned the value of keeping potions stocked.
